Amids this she also got the chance to play a role in director Ranjith’s portmanteau film Kerala Café. Shelly received the State Government’s award for best actress in a serial for her role in the serial ‘Thaniye’, also aired in Amritha TV. She has a sister Shibily who works as a teacher. She enjoys when someone says that she looks like that serial girl.It is my luck, says Shelly. She lives with her husband in their home in Trivandrum and enjoys to walk through the busy streets without getting noticed. A person visiting her home may be taken by surprise because there is little to choose between her and the role Shalini in the serial Kunkumapoovu telecast by Asianet. Shelly is a person of contrasts. She is shy on screen but bold in real life.
